Aug. 30--The News Herald, Panama City, Fla., Obituaries
Jane Scott Harris, 72, of Bonifay, Fla., was called to her heavenly home on Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2007, at her residence.
Jane was born June 23, 1935, in Callaway, Fla., a daughter of the late Benjamin and Evelyn Elliott Scott. Jane was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Millville, Fla., and enjoyed sewing and crafts. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Mrs. Harris served many years as a crossing guard at Cove Elementary School. She was an avid reader and had a wonderful sense of humor. Spending time with her family was her most valued pastime.
She is survived by two daughters, Carol Mason and her husband, Jeff, of Mobile, Ala., and Judy Ehrenfeld and her husband, Paul, of Bonifay; one son, James Harris and his wife, Brenda, of Panama City, Fla.; two grandsons, Joshua Wallace and Jeffrey Almeida; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy Scott and her partner, Shirlee Martinez, of Mobile, Ala.; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie A. Harris; one brother, Benjamin Scott; and four sisters, Margaret Alice Scott, Martha Burkett, Eleanor Curtis and Carol Sandsbury.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. today, Aug. 30, 2007, at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 31, 2007, with burial following at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Ronnie Wright will be officiating.
