I am very disappointed that THE NEW AMERICAN gave Mr. Kirt Poovey a chance to spread significant disinformation regarding the 9/11 attacks in the Letters to the Editor section of the April 2, 2007 issue.
Mr. Poovey dismisses Professor Steven Jones' extensive research and thoroughly documented findings with a wave of the hand by saying Jones could not possibly be correct in his assertion that planted explosives brought down the buildings on 9/11 because he does not present evidence for how the thermite explosives were planted. As if that proves it could not possibly have happened! What about the many Twin Tower workers who have testified that there were power outages and large sections of the buildings were without normal security cameras operating during the week prior to the attacks--which was highly unusual and would have provided ample opportunity for a relatively small team of highly trained workers to plant the necessary thermite?
Mr. Poovey ...
