I think you need to revise the criteria you use to "recommend" a car. The April issue says that the Dodge Durango is recommended, but it has a test score of 52, average reliability and accident avoidance, and below-average owner satisfaction. And it only gets 12 miles per gallon. To me this seems like a truck to avoid. A similar point could be made about the Nissan Pathfinder, Jeep Liberty, or Ford Focus. Being recommended by CR should mean that the vehicle is truly a superior offering.

I'm puzzled about a feature of your April autos issue. For the last several years you have omitted the Ford Ranger and other less expensive small pickups from your "Vehicle Ratings" section. You list six compact pickups but they are all in the $30,000 range. Who ...
