Sarasota resident, received a "substantial" reward on Saturday forfinding a Stanley Cup championship ring in the Gulf of Mexico earlier this month and returning it to its owner.

The ring belongs to Jim Pappin, who scored the series-winning goal for the Toronto Maple Leafs in 1967, the last time the Leafs won the Stanley Cup.

DesErmia met former NHL player and coach Lou Angotti at Siesta Key beach on Saturday afternoon and the two exchanged envelopes.

One contained Pappin's ring and the other contained DesErmia's reward from Pappin.
