It is hard to think of the Goldberg Variations without thinking of the late Canadian pianist Glenn Gould, who produced two wonderful recorded performances on the piano nearly three decades apart. Interestingly enough, the liner notes for this recording that arranger Sitkovetsky dedicated his trio transcription to the memory of Glenn Gould.
