This new volume includes 50 exercises or studies in essential Latin patterns for the beginning to professional pianist. Using these studies, pianists learn to play idiomatic piano ostinatos of styles such as samba, bossa nova, lambada, bahia and partido alto, and artists including Joao Gilberto, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Astrud Gilberto, Gilberto Gil, Sergio Mendes and others. The technical requirements of samba, bossa and some jazz styles can be assimilated with a fair amount of ease.
