In the 12 years Amy Fuhr-Dechant, O.D., worked for other practitioners, there was no space devoted in the optical area for babies and very small children. But when she and her husband Curtis Dechant, O.D., opened their own practice, Family Vision Care, in Tucson, AZ, three years ago, they added an area for the tiniest patients. The couple, who have two children, a 6-year-old daughter and a 4-year-old son, knew that eye wear for children was important. And in Arizona, "where the sun shines 360 days a year, sunwear is very important to us."
