Aug. 8--The opening of a south Monument road closed for construction since November has been delayed again.

Leather Chaps Drive, the main entrance to the Jackson Creek subdivision, likely won't open until Aug. 23, said Andre Brackin, capital projects division manager with the El Paso County Department of Transportation.

In July, officials said the road would reopen Aug. 10.

Leather Chaps has been closed since November for the Baptist Road widening project. Officials last fall said the closure would only last several weeks.
