Aug. 6--FORT WALTON BEACH -- A side of Brooks Bridge has become the canvas for a local artist to reflect on her native city and the unstoppable march of time.
For several weeks, Tamala Cusumano has been working under the blazing summer sun on "Tempus Fugit," a mural commissioned by Fort Walton Beach that adorns the northwest end of the bridge facing the Publix shopping center on U.S. Highway 98.
The phrase is Latin and denotes the passage of time.
"That's the theme of the mural, whether it's (referring to) the environment or people and their relationships with one another," Cusumano said.
