ESSA Bancorp, Inc. Added to Russell Microcap Index.
STROUDSBURG, Pa. -- ESSA Bancorp, Inc. [NASDAQ Global Market(SM): ESSA] today announced it has been added to the Russell Microcap([R]) Index after the Russell Investment Group reconstituted its comprehensive set of U.S. and global equity indexes on June 22.
Russell indexes are widely used by investment managers and institutional investors for index funds and as benchmarks for both passive and active investment strategies. The Company will hold its membership until Russell reconstitutes its indexes in June 2008.

The annual reconstitution of Russell indexes captures the 4,000 largest U.S. stocks as of the end of May, ranking them by total market capitalization. The Russell Microcap comprises the lower half of these 4,000 stocks.
