ADELAIDE, Aug 1 Asia Pulse - Australia's work-life balance is tilting in the wrong direction under the federal government's new industrial laws, a South Australian (SA) parliamentary inquiry has been told.
In a submission to the inquiry, SA Unions secretary Janet Giles said under the industrial relations changes workers were putting in more hours and had less family time.
"The evidence is clear - the balance between work and family life is shifting in the wrong direction under the federal laws," Ms Giles said.
"We face social fractures, as workers push themselves ever harder to try to make ends meet and families have less and less quality time together.
"Mothers, fathers, and children are flat out trying to keep their heads above water.
