APEC TO WORK FOR CONTINUED ECONOMIC GROWTH: AUSTRALIAN TREASURER.
COOLUM, Aug 1 Asia Pulse - Australian Treasurer Peter Costello says it is vitally important this week's APEC Finance Ministers Meeting promotes continued economic growth, development and stability within the Asia Pacific region.
Mr Costello today welcomed his counterparts from the other 20 economies that make up the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) at the Hyatt Regency Coolum resort on Queensland's Sunshine Coast.
High-level representatives from the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank are also in attendance.
"I am delighted to host the APEC Finance Ministers meeting for 2007 and look forward to enjoying a productive meeting with my colleagues," Mr Costello said in a statement.
