TAIPEI, Aug 1 Asia Pulse - The Council of Economic Planning and Development (CEPD) has approved two Department of Health (DOH) construction projects to further development of the country's biotech industries, CEPD officials said Tuesday.
The CEPD decided Monday at a council meeting to give the green light to the DOH to relocate several divisions of its Centre for Disease Control (CDC) in Nankang, Taipei City to Hsinchu Biomedical Science Park in northern Taiwan and earmark NT$1.9 billion (US$58 million), from this year through 2011, for the DOH to build a disease prevention centre at the park, according to the officials.
Meanwhile, the CEPD also approved a proposal to grant NT$1.58 billion for the DOH to construct a health building complex in a planned biomedical management centre in Nankang.
