TAIPEI, Aug 1 Asia Pulse - President Chen Shui-bian is scheduled to head for Honduras August 20 to attend a presidential summit meeting between Taiwan and its diplomatic allies in Central America, an official with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) announced at a news conference Tuesday.
Simon Ko, director of the MOFA's Department of Central and South American Affairs, said that invitations have been extended to the heads of state of Guatemala, Honduras, Belize, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Panama and the Dominican Republic, with the first five nations' presidents already having decided to attend the summit meeting.
