TAIPEI, Aug 1 Asia Pulse - Taiwan Minister of Economic Affairs Steve R. L. Chen announced Tuesday that his ministry has decided to tentatively freeze adjustments to domestic oil prices until August 14.
Chen also said the ministry will solicit viewpoints from different sectors over the next two weeks on how to review the existing floating fuel pricing mechanism, which uses West Texas Intermediate prices as a benchmark in gasoline pricing.
A report is expected to be completed by Aug. 14, he said, adding that a new oil pricing system will be put into practice once the report is approved by the Executive Yuan.
