WASHINGTON, Aug 1 Asia Pulse - Washington and London have renewed their resolve to jointly battle the scourge of terrorism in Afghanistan and Iraq and wage a struggle for freedom and justice around the globe.
This reiteration of the vow to fight the menace in Afghanistan, Iraq and elsewhere came at a joint news conference given by President George W. Bush and visiting British Prime Minister Gordon Brown following their summit at Camp David on Monday.
In his opening remarks, Bush observed: "The notion of America and Britain sharing values is very important; and that we have an obligation, it seems to me, to work for freedom and justice around the world. And I found a person who shares that vision and who understands the call." He claimed they were penning the initial chapters of "a great ideological struggle' between those who believed in freedom, justice and human rights and cold-blooded killers who would mow down innocents to achieve their objectives.
All praise for Brown, the US leader hailed continued support from London for Washington's campaign against terrorists in Afghanistan and Iraq.
