ST. LOUIS and WESTPORT, Conn. -- Energizer Holdings, a maker of batteries and flashlights and the parent company of wet shave products manufacturer Schick-Wilkinson Sword, has announced that it plans to acquire Playtex in a deal valued at about $1.9 billion. The acquisition will add feminine care, sun care and infant care products to Energizer's portfolio.

Under the terms of the agreement, Energizer will acquire Playtex for $18.30 per share in cash, plus the assumption of debt. The all-cash …
