SIR: I have not read Richard Dawkins' The God Delusion. I have however read David Hodgson's piece, "Dawkins and the Morality of the Bible" (May 2007) and am surprised that a philosopher and judge can allow himself to write such an opinionated piece constantly relying on his own judgment without apparently considering the scholarship on the question. Just to limit myself to the first page of his article, he uses phrases like "I see this", "I do not believe", "I argue", "I firmly believe", "I cannot accept", "I cannot believe", "I disagree", and more such.
