LaPorte Savings to buy City Savings.

Jul. 19--LaPORTE, Ind. -- LaPorte Savings Bank has agreed to acquire City Savings Financial Corp. in a deal valued at just more than $19 million.

LaPorte Savings Bank will gain City Savings Bank branches in Chesterton, Michigan City, Rolling Prairie and Crown Point as part of the acquisition.

City Savings Bank is a subsidiary of the Michigan City-based City Savings Financial Corp., with $130.9 million in assets.

The sale is expected to close in mid-October, when the City Savings Bank name will be converted to LaPorte Savings Bank, LaPorte bank president Lee Brady said.
