About 40 people gathered at Albuquerque's Islamic Center earlier this week to break a daylong fast and to worship Allah.
They and about 1 billion Muslims throughout the Islamic world have been following this ritual every day for the past three weeks. Muslims are observing Ramadan -- a sacred time of fasting, prayer and good works that ends next weekend.
