Two recent studies reveal the chemical make-up of hops (used to make beer) and cocoa beans (used to make chocolate) actually may fight cancer, among other health ailments. Compounds called flavonoids, which are found in hops, may help inhibit an enzyme and help protect against cancer, according to Oregon State University scientists. Donald Buhler, an agricultural chemist and lead researcher, warned the research should not be used to endorse more beer consumption. "But these results are really interesting.
