Principals preparing for their new jobs: Walkertown and Union Cross both getting new leaders.

Jul. 12--KERNERSVILLE

Walkertown and Union Cross elementary schools will have new principals this fall, and both men are busy getting ready for their jobs.

Neil Raymer is replacing Michael Land as the principal of Walkertown Elementary, and Land is the principal of Union Cross Elementary. Larry Cooke has retired as the principal of Union Cross Elementary School.

Raymer was the assistant principal at Jefferson Elementary School in Winston-Salem before taking the top job at Walkertown Elementary.

"I'm excited and looking forward to the opportunities and the challenge of the Walkertown community and school here," Raymer said last week, speaking from his office in Walkertown. …
