If you had completely forgotten that Andre 3000 of OutKast was a rapper, don't feel bad--for a while, he did, too. On the last two OutKast albums, Mr. 3000 spent more time singing loopy meditations on love than he did rhyming; in OutKast's 2006 movie, "Idlewild," he seemed to occupy himself mostly by staring at cuckoo clocks and looking doleful. But Andre has been inching his way back toward actual rapping, first as a guest on recent party songs by Rich Boy and Devin the Dude, and now on UGK's new single, "Int'l Players Anthem."
At the moment, the best way to experience the song is as a video, which is available on the Internet and cable TV. The mise en scene is a wedding. Andre, the groom, is in his dressing room, wearing a traditional Scottish kilt, surrounded by friends, including Pimp C and Bun B, of UGK, and his OutKast partner, Big Boi.
