SYDNEY - The Trade Practices Act must be strengthened to combat the dominance of Coles Group Ltd (ASX:CGJ) and Woolworths Ltd (ASX:WOW), which has created one of the most concentrated grocery markets in the western world, say Australia's independent grocers.
And they've warned that unless consolidation is stopped, consumers can expect higher prices at the checkout.
BSR AUSTRALIA BACK IN BLACK WITH US$1.2 MLN PROFIT
MELBOURNE - BSR Australia, the parent company of Betta Electrical and Chandlers, is back in the black for the first time since its predecessor went into administration last year.
The new parent company was formed by a consortium of Betta store franchisees, who pooled their equity and ambitions to buy out the assets of Betta Stores Ltd after it went into receivership.
