Near the beginning of Judd Apatow's Knocked Up, Allison Scott (Katherine Heigl), an interviewer for E!, wakes from a drunken night in L.A. to find a naked stranger in her bed. His name is Ben Stone (Seth Rogen), and while he is thrilled by their encounter-"You're prettier than I am," he says with awe-she's mortified to have slept with a shaggy slacker. Eight weeks later, her embarrassment turns to shock: She's pregnant. Hoping to become friends, this odd couple starts exploring their very different worlds. Allison dives into Ben's freaks-and-geeks existence with its bongs, inescapable buddies, and incessant pop-culture wisecracks-"Your face looks like Robin Williams's knuckles," a guy says of a friend's new beard.
