SIR: One of the striking aspects of Keith Windschuttle's scholarship is its boldness and ambition. His recent interesting piece, "Abolition of the Slave Trade: The Australian Connection" (April 2007), is a case in point. However, he does me an injustice in the way he refers to my treatment of Richard Atkins, Judge-Advocate of New South Wales in the early nineteenth century.
