On the night of January 5, Coleman Moody of Prattville, Alabama, answered a knock at his front door, only to have two men push their way inside his house, brandishing a weapon. They took his money and his car keys. Moody acquiesced, but as soon as the men went outside to get in his car, Moody decided to turn the tables.
He rushed for his gun, which he then used to stop the men from leaving. "He told them to throw down the car keys and get on the ground," Police Chief Alfred Wadsworth told the Montgomery Advertiser. The men didn't comply; they ran. And so Moody fired a couple of shots at the felons, hitting one of them in the hinder.
