The article "Providing Affordable Healthcare" (December 25, 2006 issue), about primary-care clinics where patients pay for the required service at the time of service, is a great article. I have been telling many physician and nurse practitioner friends of mine that it is a viable option and a good one at that. But the article failed to mention that this option is often available to nurse practitioners (NP), who can be primary-care providers.
