Joan Reist, NCTM, was awarded the third annual MTNA Distinguished Service Award at the 2007 CFMTA-MTNA-RCM Collaborative Conference in Toronto.
Reist spent 33 years as an independent music teacher and 28 years as director of the keyboard skills and piano pedagogy programs at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, from which she also holds bachelor's and master's of music degrees.
