First of all, I am very opposed to the "occupation" in Iraq, mainly because we can't afford it. Secondly, there is no "war" that we are fighting there. We won that war in a few weeks in 2003, and it was over--even officially declared as "over." So for Senator Harry Reid to declare the "war is lost" is a misnomer. We won the war already, but we are losing the ability to secure Iraq from the civil strife that has always existed and always will exist there.
We can't afford to spend $2 trillion (the latest projection of the total cost) being "referees" for Arab street fights! What are we thinking? We need to get out of there as quickly as possible and start preparing our own borders for protection from the terrorists who are 100 percent going to try and infiltrate our country to kill and maim as many of us as they can.
The Middle East is a long way from our shores and there is no "clear and present danger" to us. But there is going to be ...
