In the wake of the controversy regarding comments made by Harvard University President Lawrence Summers, one of his top female appointees recently announced her resignation. Ellen Condliffe Lagemann, dean of Harvard's Graduate School of Education, claimed her departure after three years was not due to the situation with Lawrence, but some faculty members doubt that.
