Mocksville woman hopes book reaches teens: Davie High secretary publishes story she felt inspired to tell.

The Depths of her Soul is a compact book with an oversized message: Stay in school, listen to your parents and keep close to God.

It is a message that the book's author, Stephanie Grant Redmon, hopes will resonate with teenagers, particularly those she sees at Davie High School.

Redmon, 33, is a secretary in the front office at the high school. She lives in Mocksville with her husband, Michael, and their children, Braxten and Amilea.

In April, Redmon's book, her first, was published through Booksurge, a self-publishing company that is owned by Amazon.com.
