KANSAS CITY, June 13 /PRNewswire/ -- The Kansas City, Missouri School District's Adult Basic Education (ABE) Department will hold its 23rd annual graduation and awards ceremony on Thursday, June 14th at the Gem Theater, 1615 E. 18th St. beginning at 7:00p.m.

The program consists of guest speaker, Ms. Lucille Amato, mother of Superintendent Anthony Amato. The 82-year-old has her own impressive story that mirrors many of those who have dedicated their time and persevered to finish their education. At the age of 58, Ms. Amato returned to school to obtain her GED. She then decided to become a nurse and before her 65th birthday she passed the New York City nurse's exam.…
