Senate Armed Services Committee Chairman Carl Levin (D-Mich.) on April 5 released a newly declassified Defense Department Inspector General report entitled Review of the Pre-Iraqi War Activities of the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Policy. The report, which was declassified at Levin's request, provides further evidence contradicting the Bush administration's claim that Saddam Hussein's Iraqi regime and al-Qaeda were cooperating with each other. That claim served as one of the justifications for going to war against Iraq.
