Byline: Jim Belshaw Of the Journal
Bev calls from Belen and says she has the dumbest question I ever will be asked, which is an interesting statement coming from a retired teacher. Teachers are forever saying there's no such thing as a dumb question, but I don't remember a single kid who believed it. Now I finally come up with a co-conspirator to snitch them off and it's too late.
"Is there a Dennis Rodman fan club in New Mexico?" Bev says.
She has the wrong department. She needs to call Sports to find out about the official, (frequently) league-sanctioned villain of the National Basketball Association.
Bev says she won't call a sportswriter. She is certain they are stodgy purists who disdain the likes of Dennis Rodman.
"This isn't a sports issue anyway," Bev says. "It's something else."
And that is?
