NMSU Administrator To Head Algodones
A New Mexico State University administrator will be the new principal at Algodones Elementary School.
The Bernalillo Public Schools Board of Education named Porfirio Diaz to the post at a special board meeting Thursday.
"He has a great deal of experience in the area of education and is very skilled in the area of communications and in bringing people together," said Superintendent Gary Dwyer. "Algodones supports him 100 percent."
Dwyer said Diaz, one of the three candidates considered for the position, has 11 years of administrative experience. He served on the higher education commissions in Arizona and New Mexico and is now the director of New Mexico State University's multicultural program.
"His references are just impeccable," Dwyer said.
