Candidate Has Cited Family Engagements
Some Rio Rancho and Paradise Hills residents say they feel snubbed by Democrat Eric Serna's failure to come to their communities for two recent 3rd Congressional District candidate forums.
Serna said Thursday he missed the two forums because he had other commitments. He says has been to Rio Rancho 10 times since the campaign began a few weeks ago, adding that is more than he's visited some other areas in the sprawling district.
"I've spent a lot of time there," he said.
That doesn't mollify some residents, however.
"How would you feel if you invited your neighbor, twice over, to come over to get to know you better and both times he said, 'No, thanks'?" Rio Rancho resident Hope Garcia wrote in a letter to the Journal.
