Jun. 1--Bend no longer has the nation's highest home-price appreciation rate, according to a report released Thursday. It's now 10th highest, the Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight reported.

The new No. 1? Wenatchee, Wash., with 5.96 percent appreciation in the first quarter of 2007 over the fourth quarter of 2006, and 25.6 percent price appreciation from first quarter 2006 to first quarter 2007.

Bend's home prices appreciated 0.37 percent from the fourth quarter last year to the first quarter this year and 13.67 percent from the first quarter of 2006. The city, however, had the highest five-year price appreciation of…
