JAKARTA, June 1 Asia Pulse - Jakarta's Governor Sutiyoso last night declared a written apology from NSW Premier Morris Iemma was "already more than I need".
It signalled the end of tensions over an incident during the powerful Indonesian politician's recent visit to Australia.
Australia's Ambassador to Indonesia Bill Farmer last night personally delivered a copy of the letter to Governor Sutiyoso, in which the NSW Premier apologised for any distress and inconvenience caused during his stay in Sydney.
Jakarta's long-serving governor flew home to Indonesia in disgust on Tuesday, after NSW Police entered his hotel room and asked him to testify at the politically-sensitive Balibo Five inquest.
After his meeting with Ambassador Farmer last night, Sutiyoso said: "The letter was delivered by a state official, this is something rare.
"It's already more than I need.
"It's enough, as a big-hearted citizen I must accept this.
