CANBERRA, June 1 Asia Pulse - The US plan for a new global framework to fight climate change presents a "practical road map" for cutting greenhouse gas emissions, Environment Minister Malcolm Turnbull says.
At the G8 summit in Germany next week, US President George W Bush will urge major industrialised nations to sign on to the US plan after the Kyoto Protocol lapses.
Bush wants the US and 14 other nations, including Australia, to come up with long-term global targets to reduce the effects of climate change.
Mr Turnbull says it is a wise plan.
