SIM vendors hope to liven up their drab SIM toolkit menus with cards that can read HTML and other Web-based code using the phone browser.

How It Works: Card stores HTML pages and other small multimedia content and applications that can be viewed through the handset browser. Operators could update the mobile Web pages periodically, such as daily. Subscribers would view the locally stored pages while a WAP or other mobile-Internet connection goes on in the background.
