MORE BANKS IN MALAYSIA TO ISSUE CONTACTLESS CARDS

Two banks doing business in Malaysia will issue contactless cards from competing schemes, it was announced last month. Kuala Lumpur-based RHB Bank launched the "Travel Money" MasterCard PayPass contactless credit card, aimed at frequent fliers, the ninth credit card issued by the bank. "We expect to issue 100,000 Travel Money cards by the end of this year," a bank spokesman tells Card Technology's sister publication CardLine Asia-Pacific. The first year's annual fee for the card is waived, the bank said, though the regular fee is 70 ringgits (US$ 20). Consumers with annual incomes of more than 18,000 ringgits …
