Since 2001, the Verizon Foundation Has Invested More Than $27.7 Million in the Education of the Children and Dependents of Verizon Employees
NEW YORK, May 16 /PRNewswire/ -- The Verizon Foundation has awarded $1.25 million in college scholarships to 250 children and dependents of Verizon employees. Each recipient will receive $5,000 and is eligible to receive a maximum award of $20,000 throughout four years of college.
The scholarships, for the 2007-2008 school year, are part of Verizon's $4.8 million investment in the education of 957 Verizon scholars --- 250 freshmen and 707 upperclassmen - who will attend colleges and universities throughout the United States this ...
