Cherokee Health Systems in Knoxville, Tenn. blends behavioral health care with primary care in 14 of its 21 sites in the eastern part of the of the state. Patients experiencing such issues as hypertension or diabetes can be provided with care along with their mental health needs with psychologists and behaviorists on site.

"We provide one-stop shopping for them," Parinda Khatri, Ph.D., director of integrated care told MHW. "Patients can have a range of their mental health needs met, such as depression and anxiety. We can help address psychosocial factors associated with their physical health."
