Vivian Brooks Truman, 78, of Panama City, Fla., passed away Sunday, April 29, 2007, at her home.
She was born in Griffin, Ga., and had lived in Panama City since 1978. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and a wonderful homemaker. She was a faithful member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Rosary Makers and a lay associate of the Apostles of the Resurrection. She was a member of the Panhandle Federated Republican Women.
Ms. Truman was predeceased by her former husband and father of her children, William Kenneth Truman Sr.; a son, Marty Truman; and a brother, Robert Ingram. Survivors include her children, Sandra Truman of Atlanta, William "Billy" Truman Jr. of St. Paul, Minn., Jerrie Truman of Atlanta, Robert Truman of Los Angeles, Joseph Truman of Tampa, Fla., Vivian "Mimi" Truman of Panama City and Robin Truman of Pensacola, Fla.; two sisters, Betty Ingram of Baltimore and Joan Woodley of Fostoria, Ohio; her grandchildren, Kimberly, Christian, Logan, Noah, Martina, Rhiannan, Vivian, Mikeya, Remy and Misty; great-grandchildren, Levi and Alexis; her friend and former husband, Jaycee Brooks; and honorary family members, Bobby Edwards and Derwood Barnes.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, May 4, 2007, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Father Jerzy Zieba, C.R., officiating. Interment will follow at Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today, May 3, 2007, from 6 to 8 p.m. with a rosary service at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Ms. Truman's name may be made to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 1008 Fortune Ave., ...
