JAKARTA, May 1 Asia Pulse - Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong of Singapore assured the return of assets to Indonesia of Indonesians in his country convicted of corruption.
"We have a regulation ruling the return of the assets of law fugitives to their countries," Lee told reporters after the signing of an extradition agreement between the two countries in Tampak Siring, Bali last weekend.
He said the Indonesian government already succeeded in confiscating the assets of a number of corrupt Indonesians in Singapore.
"The law on banking secrecy is not made to protect criminals," he said.
