Apr. 30--William Alston has a few ideas on how to better the city school board.
"I think government needs to be run more like a business," said Alston, a Bristol Tennessee resident who co-owns Southeast Industries in Johnson City. "I think [the school board] needs to make hard decisions, and they don't."
After watching the board for several years, Alston said he's not pleased with some of its decisions. That's why he's decided to run for a school board seat.
"I'll go in there and try to do what's right," he said.
