With more than 100 Vogue covers to his name and a client list more typical of a Hollywood power agent, hairstylist Garren has been influencing the world of haute hair for decades. Known for precision cuts and a sharp, editorial aesthetic, he has long been the go-to guy for top models (Karen Elson, Liya Kebede, Daria Werbowy, Gemma Ward) and a whole host of A-list actresses, fashion insiders, and social swans. But his most recent labor of love was something more personal. This winter, he reopened his namesake salon at its new location inside the historic Sherry-Netherland hotel on Fifth Avenue. Hidden behind a set of mirrored bronze doors, the well-appointed space is easy to overlook-and that's exactly the point.
