TACA boosts Panama Canal transit fee.

The Trans-Atlantic Conference Agreement recently said its Panama Canal Transit Fee will increase on May 1. The move will compensate for the final tier of the Panama Canal Authority's current three-tier toll increase, which will take effect that day.

The canal authority's toll is scheduled to increase to $54 per TEU on May 1 from the current $49 per TEU, which took effect on May 1, 2006.
