Katrina insurance lawsuit still pending

Tonnage at the Port of Pascagoula has recovered from the ravages of Hurricane Katrina, which caused approximately $15 million worth of damage to the port in August 2005. From January to November 2006, Pascagoula handled 599,716 tons of cargo, including 323,551 tons of forest products, 180,584 tons of frozen poultry and 4,034 tons of project cargo. This is a 14 percent increase over the same 11 months of Katrina-blasted 2005 and a 4 percent increase from the same period in 2004.
